How these plants can help clean air in your house?

Have you ever considered that your home is a residing place for not only you but many harmful chemicals too such as carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde. These chemicals when present in high levels are the main cause of allergic reactions and asthma attacks. Some of these chemicals are also linked to cause of cancer in humans which is a serious concern. There are a variety of household products which are known to emit such hazardous chemicals. Some of these are sealants, furniture finishes, household furniture and even air fresheners.

The exhaust gases include many harmful chemicals and benzene and xylene forms a part of it. The other chemical which boston ferns regulate to bring down its percentage it formaldehyde. Boston Ferns is a demanding plant as daily care needs to be provided to this plant in form of watering or daily spraying of the leaves with fresh water.

2. Palm Trees

Opposite to Boston ferns, palm trees are known to remove formaldehyde from your indoor air and they also don’t need extensive care. There are many varieties of palm plants which are almost similar in appearance to palm trees but are easy to take care of. Some of these plants are Lady palm, areca palm, parlor palm and bamboo palm. They don’t often demand extensive care but these plants prefer temperature which is in the range of 0 to 32°C.

3. Janet Craigs Plant

Native to tropical Africa, Janet Craigs Plants are on top of the list as a formaldehyde removal agents. These plants needs very less care compared to Boston Ferns and are most suitable for indoor office environments where most of the furniture consists of particleboard's joined together with the help of glues whose main component is formaldehyde. 



4. English Ivy

English Ivy is also an effective formaldehyde remover. The vines of English Ivy are known as superb climbers and can cling to any surface be it walls, windows or any wire too. As the maintenance of these plants is also not too extensive you can forget worrying about maintenance part too. Although occasional misting and watering will make it look healthy and presentable too.
